A major exhibition dedicated to the work of one of the most famous and enigmatic contemporary artists, Banksy, has opened in Dortmund. Titled House of Banksy – An Unauthorized Exhibition, the show is housed in the former C&A department store on Ostenhellweg and has already attracted strong public interest.
The exhibition features more than 150 exhibits, including reproductions of iconic graffiti works, photographs, sculptures, installations, and video material. Many of the original pieces are no longer accessible or have been destroyed, making the exhibition a rare opportunity to explore the artist’s oeuvre in depth.
Although the exhibition is not officially authorized by Banksy himself, the organizers emphasize its educational and cultural purpose. The show highlights key themes present in the artist’s work, such as war and peace, political power, consumerism, freedom, and social protest.
The project was developed by the team behind The Mystery of Banksy – A Genius Mind, a globally successful exhibition that has toured dozens of cities worldwide. In Dortmund, the exhibition covers approximately 2,000 square meters.
The exhibition is open daily and will run until mid-March 2026. Tickets are available online and at the venue.
